Summer is closely approaching and so is prime travel time! Although I'd love to be able to bring my entire makeup and skincare collection with me wherever I travel, I know that A) it'd be a pain to haul it all around B) I'd likely lose or leave something behind and C)
there would naturally be a fight for space with my clothes and shoes. After years of traveling all over the world (20+ countries and counting!), I've narrowed down my essential travel beauty must-haves and I'm sharing them with you! Check them out:
A custom eyeshadow palette with a mix of neutrals and some bold/sparkly/fun colors. The neutrals will cover your day-to-day events and the bold colors will give you that extra glam for a planned or unexpected night out! To streamline things for you full-face makeup fiends and contouring queens, I recommend bringing along a full-face palette (eyes, cheeks and contouring).
My picks: MAC custom eyeshadow palette, TARTE eye and cheek palette, Anastasia BH Contour Kit
Air travel is notorious for drying out your skin due to the lack of humidity in planes and changing climates can also wreak havoc on your skin. Make sure to liberally apply moisturizer to your skin before and after flights and all throughout your trip. Pro Tip- Buy body lotion at your destination. You can find quality and affordable lotion almost anywhere and you don't have to worry about the travel size requirement.
My picks: CURA Face Moisturizer, L'Occitane Hand Cream, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion
This right here is an absolute necessity! You can purchase a small jug of this stuff for less than $2 and use it to keep your lips, hands, and practically any part of your body super hydrated. Also works great to help heal minor cuts!
The dry air in planes as well as changes in climate can sometimes cause our skin to overcompensate and increase oil production. Blotting papers work wonders in removing excess oil and grease, keeping your face looking nice and matte.
My picks: Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens, Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets
Packing your favorite face wash is a must! This helps you maintain your normal skincare regimen, while also removing makeup and dirt that's accumulated from your day's adventures. It also takes up less room and last longer than face cleansing wipes.
My picks: CURA Bright & Balanced Facial Cleanser, KORRES Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser
It's always nice to smell your best wherever you go and perfume rollers are the perfect travel companion. It's more likely than not that your favorite fragrance comes in a travel size or you can find it in roller form. I prefer perfume rollers when traveling because they're slender and easy to apply on the go!
My picks: You can find tons of wonderful fragrances in roller form at Sephora or Ulta
A great way to drench your skin with hydrating ingredients and give your skin a quick pick-me-up! I suggest packing a few masks and applying them right before bed or while on a long flight.
My picks: Celavi Essence Facial Masks, Boscia Multi-Masking Medley
A little lip color never hurt anybody! Adding some color to your lips gives you an extra beauty boost. I normally pack a neutral or pinkish lipgloss and 2 lipsticks, one that gives noticeable color and one that's more bold. Try packing lipsticks or glosses that won't dry out your lips and cause them to chap.
My picks: Bite Amuse Bouche Lipstick, FENTY Beauty Gloss Bomb, Fresh Tinted Lip Treatment
This ointment comes in handy for a variety of reasons: It can help decrease inflammation from a pimple or allergic reaction to a bug bite.
My pick: Cortizone 10 Intensive Healing Anti-Itch Cream
Of course we can't forget our sun protection! Make sure you bring along sunscreen with at least SPF 30. You should really be applying SPF all the time, but definitely while vacationing and even on the plane! UV rays are even stronger at high altitudes.
My picks: La Roche-PosayAnthelios 45 Ultra-Light Fluid for Face, Cetaphil SPF50 Daytime Moisturizer, Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream
