Wedding season is upon us and I've got some insider tips to help you look your best on the big day! Whether you're the blushing bride, supportive bridesmaid, or honored guest, these beauty hacks will get you wedding-ready and keep you looking flawless all night long!
Make sure to keep up a pre-wedding skincare routine. Cleanse, tone, and moisturize regularly and exfoliate a few times a week to brighten dull skin.
Avoid any major skincare changes/procedures right before the big day. You never know how your skin will react and it may take time for it to calm down, heal, and for any symptoms to go away.
Do a makeup trial run, take photos, and also see it in natural sunlight. Photos are a great way of capturing your desired wedding look and replicating it. Also, doing/seeing your makeup in natural lighting ensures that you will look flawless in the brightest of lights (flash photography!) and into the evening.
Bump up the glow factor with highlighter, bronzer, or sunless tanning products. I'm a big fan of Sally Hansen's Airbrush line and Jergens Natural Glow Firming Daily Moisturizer
A makeup setting spray is your BFF. A great setting spray will help keep your makeup budge-proof through high temperatures, humidity, and stress! My recommendations are: Urban Decay All Nighter, MAC's Prep + Prime, and Kat Von D Lock-It
Make sure your 'do withstands the elements. If the wedding festivities are mostly outdoor, make sure your beautifully coiffed hair can stand up to the weather. My hubby and I married on the beach and although the weather was absolutely gorgeous, I didn't realize how breezy it would be. Needless to say, minor parts of my updo were flying in my face but luckily most of my hair stayed up and survived the wind! Also, the weather was extremely humid so having my hair up was a no-brainer and I didn't have to worry about my hair frizzing up and being blown all over the place.
Show off that smile of yours. One of your greatest beauty assets is your smile. Whether you're an expert at smizing or love showing off your pearly whites, your smile is what brightens any room and draws positive attention. Because at the end of the (big) day, you're celebrating love and that should make anyone happy.
